<p>Michael Jackson left and Steve Jobs returns, a fair trade? Well, after six months of medical leave (Cancer) from Apple, El Jobs is finally back, but he will only be working for a few days in a week (in the office), and the others at home. The return should keep the shareholders at peace as this reassures them that the boss is in tiptop condition.</p>
<p><em>&#8220;Steve Jobs is back to work. He is at Apple a few days a week and working from home the other days,&#8221; Apple spokesman Steve Dowling said. &#8220;We&#8217;re glad to have him back.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>It&#8217;s been rather dull without him the past few months, Stevey, bring the spark back please!</p>
<p>Ps: We are glad that you are all well <img src='http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Jobs is a vegetarian, and have been for a long time, and the pancreatic cancer he has often spreads to other organs, especially the liver. So, that certainly does cut rumors about him being an alcoholic.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">According to WSJ, he is expected to return to his desk late June 2009.</p>

<p><strong>2:55 AM: </strong>&#8220;There&#8217;s another great feature &#8212; we call it voice control. You can hold down the home button, and a brand new UI pops up &#8212; the voice control interface.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-992 aligncenter" title="menu" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-793.jpg" alt="menu" width="520" height="300" /></p>
<p><strong>2:53 AM:</strong> Macro as close as 10cm away, and better low light performance. &#8220;And there&#8217;s an API for developers. But the best thing about this camera, is that it also captures video&#8230;&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-989 aligncenter" title="phone features" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc-2009-keynote-1506-rm-eng.jpg" alt="phone features" width="520" height="470" /></p>

<p><strong>2:51 AM:</strong> 7.2Mbps HSDPA&#8230; Brand new 3 megapixel autofocus camera&#8230;<!--live_update:11:48:48AM-->&#8220;Amazing hardware and software which works together. Auto focus, auto white balance&#8230; and we have tap to focus&#8230; you just tap on what you want to focus on.&#8221; Just like the leak we saw!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-986 aligncenter" title="camera" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-769.jpg" alt="camera" width="520" height="311" /></p>

<p><strong>2:48 AM:</strong> iPhone 3GS! The S stands for SPEED. Because “this is the most powerful, fastest iPhone ever made.” Launching messaging is 2.1x faster, loading SimCity is 2.4x faster, viewing Excel 3.6x faster, loading NY Times 2.9x faster.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-983 aligncenter" title="3gs" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-751.jpg" alt="3gs" width="520" height="297" /></p>

<p><strong>2:47 AM:</strong> Here’s a graph of mobile browser usage. 2/3 of all mobile browsing is done on an iPhone or iPod touch.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-980 aligncenter" title="g1" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-742.jpg" alt="g1" width="520" height="317" /></p>

<p><strong>2:46 AM:</strong> Phil Schiller is on stage. “To call the iPhone 3G a hit would be an understatement.” Does this mean a new iPhone?</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-978 aligncenter" title="ps" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-740.jpg" alt="ps" width="520" height="298" /></p>
<p><strong>2:44 AM: </strong>That rounds up iPhone OS 3.0. iPhone OS 3.0 will be free for all iPhone customers. $9.95 for iPod touch. Available worldwide June 17th.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-974 aligncenter" title="World" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-734.jpg" alt="World" width="520" height="313" /></p>

<p><strong>2:43 AM:</strong> The company leaves the stage defeated.</p>
<p><strong>2:42 AM:</strong> Ouch, a communication problem between the phone and the cable. I’m sure Scott Forstall wants them to hurry up and get off the stage so the next guys can come on.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-972 aligncenter" title="Guitstage" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-716.jpg" alt="Guitstage" width="520" height="315" /></p>
<p><strong>2:41 AM:</strong> People are getting antsy. iPhone apps are great, but they’re all here for the iPhone hardware. Is it? Isn’t it? Nobody knows! Tell us Forstall, tell us.</p>
<p><strong>2:39 AM:</strong> &#8220;Next up is our final demo. Line 6 and Planet Waves. You can control your guitar and your amp from your iPhone.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-969 aligncenter" title="line6" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-710.jpg" alt="line6" width="520" height="312" /></p>

<p><strong>2:36 AM:</strong> Wow &#8212; you can unlock the car from within the app! Big applause for that one.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-965 aligncenter" title="remote" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc-2009-keynote-1464-rm-eng.jpg" alt="remote" width="520" height="372" /></p>

<p><strong>2:35 AM:</strong> Scott: &#8220;That&#8217;s the last time I&#8217;m dressing up for an experiment. Next up is Zipcar.&#8221; A guy wants to rent a car. What do you know? Their new app shows a map of available zipcar locations mapped in green pins. Tapping on a pin brings up the name of the location along with a list of available cars.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-962 aligncenter" title="zipcar" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-683.jpg" alt="zipcar" width="520" height="302" /></p>
<p><strong>2:34:</strong> Ooh, the demo fails onstage. But the graph appears anyway. It’s magic, people. Magic.</p>
<p><strong>2:32 AM:</strong> Now, people can connect PASCO sensors to computers to record/input data. Their Spark application brings this functionality to the iPhone.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-959 aligncenter" title="demo1" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-669.jpg" alt="demo1" width="520" height="308" /></p>

<p><strong>2:31 AM:</strong> Next up Pasco</p>
<p><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-958" title="pasco" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-663.jpg" alt="pasco" width="520" height="333" /></p>
<p><strong>2:30 AM:</strong> Star Defense launches today. It’s available NOW for $5.99.</p>
<p><strong>2:30 AM: </strong>There will be free updates and priced expansions. You can acquire these updates right through their menu. “BAM, CHECK THAT OUT.” The crowd laughs.</p>
<p><strong>2:29 AM:</strong> Their game? Star Defense. It’s loading now…taking a while.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-955 aligncenter" title="Game" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-653.jpg" alt="Game" width="520" height="332" /></p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-953 aligncenter" title="ngmoco" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-649.jpg" alt="ngmoco" width="520" height="341" /></p>
<p><strong>2:27 AM: </strong>The tomtom Car Kit rechages the iPhone, holds it, whatever. It’s a dock with a big suction cup on it. The Nav works in Landscape too.</p>
<p><strong>2.26 AM:</strong> They’ve created an optional tomtom Car Kit. Looks more like a video mount kit! <img src='http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-951 aligncenter" title="mount" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-644.jpg" alt="mount" width="520" height="337" /></p>
<p><strong>2:24 AM:</strong> &#8220;We&#8217;ve worked hard on this. We&#8217;ve delivered real TomTom navigation on the iPhone. Here&#8217;s an example.&#8221; About time on this, guys!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-949 aligncenter" title="nv2" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-641.jpg" alt="nv2" width="520" height="347" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-947 aligncenter" title="nav" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc-2009-keynote-1441-rm-eng.jpg" alt="nav" width="520" height="338" /></p>
<p><strong>2:23 AM:</strong> tomtom up next! This is the first navigational turn-by-turn on the app store. They’re bringing both applications and accessory integration to the iPhone.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-945 aligncenter" title="tomtom" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-625.jpg" alt="tomtom" width="520" height="307" /></p>
<p><strong>2:22 AM:</strong> This is a competitor to the Kindle, but the Amazon store is pretty damn good already. Don’t know if it has 1 million books, though.</p>
<p><strong>2.21 AM:</strong> ScrollMotion is next. They do stuff with digital books. The book store they’re demoing works off of in-app purchase. Megan Fox! There are 50 major magazines, 170 daily newspapers and 1 million books to the app store.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-941 aligncenter" title="Scroll" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-609.jpg" alt="Scroll" width="520" height="368" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-942 aligncenter" title="Megan" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-615.jpg" alt="Megan" width="520" height="328" /></p>
<p><strong>2:20 AM:</strong> Push notifications allow someone’s lab to be pushed right to a doctor. The notification links more information on the patient. Hopefully the patient lives. But it can also stream EKG information over 3G. This is pretty awesome. You can know exactly when the patient has trouble.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-939 aligncenter" title="PushNot" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-604.jpg" alt="PushNot" width="520" height="321" /></p>
<p><strong>2.18 AM:</strong> Scott Forstall just gave a “it’s great stuff” as the developer was leaving the stage. But the way he said it was hilarious, like he didn’t care. Gameloft is done. Next up, Airstrip Technologies. They allow healthcare providers to monitor information on mobiles.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-937 aligncenter" title="Airstrip" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-596.jpg" alt="Airstrip" width="520" height="321" /></p>
<p><strong>2:16 AM:</strong> &#8220;Ever since we announced 3.0, we&#8217;ve been seeding developers with betas, and here&#8217;s a few to show you what they&#8217;ve accomplished, starting with Gameloft.&#8221; Gameloft is showing off what we saw at the 3.0 event &#8212; racing app. One moment, we need to get our leathers on.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-934 aligncenter" title="Game Loft" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-578.jpg" alt="Game Loft" width="520" height="366" /></p>
<p><strong>2:15 AM:</strong> Now here we go, Push Notification</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-932 aligncenter" title="Push" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-570.jpg" alt="Push" width="520" height="312" /></p>
<p><strong>2:14 AM:</strong> Accessories. In iPhone 3.0, hardware accessory devs can build true companion accessories.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-930 aligncenter" title="Acc" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-557.jpg" alt="Acc" width="520" height="310" /></p>
<p><strong>2:13 AM:</strong> There’s Peer to Peer support, too. Peer to Peer can automatically find another player in close proximity and connect your seamlessly.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-929 aligncenter" title="Pirce" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-549.jpg" alt="Pirce" width="520" height="302" /></p>
<p><strong>2:11 AM:</strong> The SDK brings 1000 new APIs that you might not care about, but the devs in the audience might be interested in. Now, APIs. In App Purchase first. You can use it in magazine subscriptions to renew your magazine, or buy additional game packs for your games. Business terms for in-app purchase are the same as App Store purchases, a 30-70 cut. This is for paid apps only, free apps remain free for the lifetime of the app (no possible in-app purchase to trick you).</p>
<p><strong>2:10 AM:</strong> You can also send it a remote wipe command (previously not available to everybody) and will erase all your data and keep your private data private. “If you ever do find the phone again, just plug it into iTunes and it will restore from backup.”</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-926 aligncenter" title="Find Phone" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-524.jpg" alt="Find Phone" width="520" height="307" /></p>
<p><strong>2:08 AM:</strong> Find My iPhone is a new feature. “It can be somewhat traumatic” to lose your phone. “Only” to Mobile Me customers. Only. But it’ll show you on a map where your phone is. Also useful for your family/friends to track you down.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-924 aligncenter" title="Alert" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-530.jpg" alt="Alert" width="520" height="324" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-921 aligncenter" title="Find" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-509.jpg" alt="Find" width="520" height="314" /></p>
<p><strong>2:06 AM:</strong> Language support: Their operating system is “localized into every language they support.” They’re adding Hebrew, Arabic, Thai, Greek and Korean. They support more than 30 languages in iPhone 3.0.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-919 aligncenter" title="Language" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-497.jpg" alt="Language" width="520" height="297" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-920" title="More Lang" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-506.jpg" alt="More Lang" width="520" height="297" /></p>
<p><strong>2:05 AM:</strong> Support for HTTP streaming audio and video. Bitrate and data quality adjust to connection speed.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><img class="size-full wp-image-918 aligncenter" title="Stream" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-487.jpg" alt="Stream" width="520" height="311" /></strong></p>
<p><strong>2:03 AM:</strong> Tethering allows you to share you iPhone internet connection with a PC. But of course, later this summer&#8230;.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-916 aligncenter" title="Thetering" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-470.jpg" alt="Thetering" width="520" height="301" /></p>
<p><strong>2:02 AM:</strong> Parental Controls are enhanced as well, with control over movies, TV shows and apps.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-915 aligncenter" title="Parentals" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-465.jpg" alt="Parentals" width="520" height="303" /></p>
<p><strong>2:02 AM: </strong>Spotlight coming, too. It allows you to search across your phone, apps included.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-913 aligncenter" title="Iphone" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-447.jpg" alt="Iphone" width="520" height="304" /></p>
<p><strong>2.01 AM:</strong> “AT&amp;T will be ready to support MMS later this summer.” Fail. FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL.</p>
<p><strong>2:01 AM:</strong> “The big news here is MMS.” Two years into a phone’s lifecycle it finally gets MMS—and we’re supposed to be happy about it? MMS should have been in there at LAUNCH.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-911 aligncenter" title="MMS" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-442.jpg" alt="MMS" width="520" height="302" /></p>
<p><strong>2:00 AM:</strong> Landscape keyboard works in email, notes, and messages.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-909 aligncenter" title="Note" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-436.jpg" alt="Note" width="520" height="309" /></p>
<p><strong>1.59 AM: </strong>They’re talking about Cut, Copy and Paste – it works with all apps, there’s undo support and there are developer APIs</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-907 aligncenter" title="Featuresiphone" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-432.jpg" alt="Featuresiphone" width="520" height="302" /></p>
<p><strong>1:58 AM:</strong> “This is a major update to the iPhone operating system. It brings with it more than 100 new features. Let me highlight just a few.”</p>
<p><strong>1.57 AM:</strong> Scott Forstall is back on stage after the video montage. “let’s talk about what’s next” – iPhone OS 3.0</p>
<p><strong>1.55 AM:</strong> Now the devs are talking about how great the push notifications and the streaming video is going to be in iPhone 3.0. Will 3.0 make a difference in letting more apps do video streaming over 3G? Like Sling over AT&amp;T’s network? Or is it just going to be Wi-Fi still? C’mon AT&amp;T.</p>
<p><strong>1.53 AM:</strong> Lots of developers talking about getting the opportunity to make games and submitting them to the app store. “We were so excited to finally get a game published.”</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-902 aligncenter" title="Game" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-408.jpg" alt="Game" width="520" height="302" /></p>
<p><strong>1:52 AM:</strong> In 9 months, Apple had 1 billion apps downloaded.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-899 aligncenter" title="1bill" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-390.jpg" alt="1bill" width="520" height="336" /></p>
<p><strong>1:51 AM:</strong> More than 40,000,000 iPhones plus iPod touches have been sold.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-898 aligncenter" title="Apps" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-387.jpg" alt="Apps" width="520" height="306" /></p>
<p><strong>1.50 AM:</strong> Now for the iPhone, here comes Scott Forstall</p>
<p><strong>1.49 AM:</strong> They’re wrapping up Snow Leopard coverage. “So that’s Snow Leopard.” Available on intel Macs “past and present.” @ USD$ 129</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-893 aligncenter" title="SL" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-360.jpg" alt="SL" width="520" height="297" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-894" title="129" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-366.jpg" alt="129" width="520" height="305" /></p>
<p><strong>1:48 AM:</strong> And Exchange support? Free. “Windows PCs cost extra for Exchange support.” The crowd reacts.</p>
<p><strong>1:47 AM: </strong>We’re in mail, a password is entered, and “we’re integrated with Exchange.” Emails, Folders, To-Dos, Notes. But OSX stuff like Spotlight works within this interface. Basically, it looks like it should look. OS X functions work within their Exchange interface. iCal shows both iCal calendars and exchange calendars. The Address Book also allows searching within Exchange and supports Exchange contact folders (it also merges both).</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-889 aligncenter" title="Exchange" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-327.jpg" alt="Exchange" width="520" height="300" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-890" title="Ical" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-354.jpg" alt="Ical" width="520" height="297" /></p>
<p><strong>1:46 AM:</strong> Exchange support is now built into Mail, iCal and Address book.</p>
<p><strong>1:45 AM:</strong> Next up, Microsoft Exchange</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-886 aligncenter" title="64 bit" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-326.jpg" alt="64 bit" width="520" height="303" /></p>
<p><strong>1:43 AM:</strong> But Apple wants to use this power for “all kinds of things.” They’re referring to OpenCL.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-884 aligncenter" title="Open CL" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-319.jpg" alt="Open CL" width="520" height="311" /></p>
<p><strong>1:42 AM:</strong> He’s talking about 1 teraflop power and using OpenGL.</p>
<p><strong>1:41 AM:</strong> &#8220;Now let&#8217;s talk Graphics&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-881 aligncenter" title="Graphics" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-318.jpg" alt="Graphics" width="520" height="308" /></p>
<p><strong>1:40 AM: </strong>“So just to give you a taste of what it feels like to use GCD” he’s showing us Leopard Mail. In Leopard, when Mail is busy it uses a bunch of threads. When Mail is idle it uses MORE threads. But in Snow Leopard, mail uses fewer threads when idle.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-879 aligncenter" title="Snow" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-314.jpg" alt="Snow" width="520" height="297" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-878 aligncenter" title="Leopard" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-312.jpg" alt="Leopard" width="520" height="307" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">
<p><strong>1:37 AM: </strong>Snow Leopard runs all major OSX apps running in 64-bit. Secondly, multi-core. Instead of increasing frequency for chips, people have been introducing multiple cores.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-875 aligncenter" title="Speed" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-300.jpg" alt="Speed" width="520" height="297" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-876" title="Core" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-310.jpg" alt="Core" width="520" height="306" /></p>
<p><strong>1:35 AM:</strong> Bio of Bertrand Serlet: “Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, and is responsible for leading Apple’s Software Engineering group. Serlet reports directly to the CEO. Serlet joined Apple in 1997, and has been a key player in the definition, development and creation of Mac OS X, the world’s most advanced operating system. As vice president of Platform Technology, Serlet managed the largest part of the Mac OS software engineering group. Before joining Apple, Serlet spent 4 years at Xerox PARC, then joined NeXT in 1989. Serlet holds a doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Orsay, France.”</p>
<p><strong>1:34 AM:</strong> Like many Safari beta users have seen, “Top Sites” can be embarrassing when your friends see what kind of sites you frequent. Full History search allows you to Cover Flow through all your browsing history. Plus you can Spotlight all of the text in those pages in your history. That Cover Flow view is useful if you recognize your web sites only by visual cues, I guess, and not by the name of the site. Good for forgetful people?</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-870 aligncenter" title="Finder2" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-272.jpg" alt="Finder2" width="520" height="298" /></p>
<p><strong>1:32 AM:</strong> A new integrated Finder</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-868 aligncenter" title="Finder" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-236.jpg" alt="Finder" width="520" height="307" /></p>
<p><strong>1:31 AM: </strong> &#8220;Next Safari. It&#8217;s been in beta for a few months&#8230; today we&#8217;re shipping Safari 4 for Leopard, Tiger, and Windows.&#8221; Chuckles, cheers.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-864 aligncenter" title="Benchmark" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc-2009-keynote-1268-rm-eng.jpg" alt="Benchmark" width="520" height="317" /></p>
<p><strong>1:30 AM:</strong> Wow &#8212; they&#8217;re adding handwriting recognition for the trackpad. Chinese Character input on touchpad:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-866 aligncenter" title="Chinese" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc2009-201.jpg" alt="Chinese" width="520" height="307" /></p>
<p><strong>1:29 AM:</strong> &#8220;We&#8217;ve made installs 45% faster. And after you install, you recover disk space&#8230; it&#8217;s over half the footprint of the previous version.&#8221; Wow &#8212; 6GB of savings. That&#8217;s not nothing.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-861 aligncenter" title="Features" src="http://www.gizlounge.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/wwdc-2009-keynote-1262-rm-eng.jpg" alt="Features" width="520" height="303" /></p>
<p><strong>1:28 AM:</strong> &#8220;Next up, the Dock &#8212; we&#8217;ve had a feature that we use to deal with clutter, called Expose, and now we&#8217;ve built it into the dock.&#8221; You click and hold on an app and it automatically zooms out your active windows.<!--live_update:10:20:46AM--></p>
<p><strong>1:27 AM:</strong> JPEG now opens 45% faster</p>
