Strip it down!

A full dissection of the 4th gen iPhone has taken place, and the verdict?

1. Larger battery (19% bigger than the 3GS battery)
2. Shrunken down logic boards

There has been some problems, it seems that the dissection process (by Gizmodo) has caused some damage to the iPhone. This leads to why Gizmodo hasn’t published a photo of the display.

Sounds like this is going to be another music festival! That said, we heard that Apple is going to reveal the fabled Apple Tablet, the iTablet perhaps?

It is told that the device will have a 10-inch screen (touch) and will be running the iPhone OS. So what’s the purpose of the iTablet? It seems that it’s going to be a big iPod Touch also and eBook. Hmmmph? How true is this then eh? We’ll wait and see!

Was taking a stroll in Bangkok last week and saw this shop, up in Platinum Mall. Since when did Apple turn into White Lies? By selling 3 dollar clothes? Yes, Push feature really sucks the battery dry, but not making it through the 10-hour window is not exactly par. This is certainly plain-jane software and we all do hope that the firmware 3.1 will solve the problem.

Michael Jackson left and Steve Jobs returns, a fair trade? Well, after six months of medical leave (Cancer) from Apple, El Jobs is finally back, but he will only be working for a few days in a week (in the office), and the others at home. The return should keep the shareholders at peace as this reassures them that the boss is in tiptop condition.

“Steve Jobs is back to work. He is at Apple a few days a week and working from home the other days,” Apple spokesman Steve Dowling said. “We’re glad to have him back.”

It’s been rather dull without him the past few months, Stevey, bring the spark back please!

Viruses runs low in the Mac OS realm, that’s a plus, right? That does not mean the Job-lings have got a ton of time to develop extra platforms without the need to defend themselves from attackers. Apple’s sluggishness on this issue have caused some damages from attackers, e.g. allowing attackers to run arbitrary applications or processes on your machine if you visited a webpage hosting a malicious Java applet.

The fix includes the patch to improve the reliability of the security on Java.

There was the Unibody MacBook (Aluminium), and there was the White MacBook. They both faught and one of them graduated with a Pro title, the Unibody MacBook is now the MacBook Pro, which leaves the White MacBook the only MacBook available. Starting at USD$ 999,  it comes with the Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz processor, 2GB DDR2 memory, 160GB Hard Drive and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics.

Great price for new adopters.

In a thorough review of the new speed-bumped white MacBook, Macworld notes an intriguing fact: the 2.13GHz model of the $999 entry-level laptop actually outperforms the base unibody model. The magazine’s benchmarks show a 4 percent advantage for the new white MacBook over the $1299 2GHz aluminum laptop; the white model even outlasts the next-generation machine on battery life by more than 30 minutes.

Unless you absolutely have to have the new industrial design on your laptop and you’re willing to pay an extra $300 for the privilege, it does seem that the new white model is the better buy… for now. A performance gap like this is a strong hint that the unibody models are due for a processor bump sometime soon, if only to restore the proper order of things: faster should equal more expensive. Right?

Looks like new photos of the upcoming 3rd generation iPhone have been leaked. Who knows if they’re real, but if it’s the real deal we can gather a few interesting things:

- Opaque back, slip resistant finish–less likely to smudge
- Power button on the top left instead of right
- Headphone jack on the bottom right instead of top left
- New side button on bottom right side, possibly a camera button
- Well, in any case, all will be revealed at the WWDC that’s coming up in a few days.

Citing analysts at Morgan Stanley, the Financial Times claims Apple has plans to release a cheap iPhone at either a $US99 or $US149 price point, and could possibly announce it Monday at WWDC.

The article goes on to state that the move could dramatically increase Apple’s smartphone marketshare and production of the new devices is thought to begin in July. But AppleInsider is skeptical of these claims, pointing out that the analyst in question, Kathryn Huberty, has a poor track record Apple predictions. I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but this does seem to fall in line with recent 4GB iPhone rumors

According to MacRumors.com, this might just be the new Mac Mini. Coming to the stores near you?
