Starcraft 2 Beta Phase 2 Released!

Starcraft fans rejoice! The 2nd phase of the Starcraft 2 Beta is nearing release and an update has been made available for download. However, there has been no official word from Blizzard as of yet so we’ve been left to sit tight until it launches.

Relax buddy, we can’t wait either.

Most of the features of the full game have been made available at this point, including all difficulties of AI, game modes, as well as inter-game chat with World of Warcraft players. We’re crossing our fingers but it shouldn’t be long now, see you in-game!

How The iPhone 4G Should Look Like

I do agree with many that the iPhone 4G that was left behind with Gizmodo a couple days back is ugly, not ugly per se, but just very un-apple-like. Instead of a chunky squary piece of metal, what about adapting a mix of what the 3gs and the 1st gen iPhone incorporated?

This is what it should look like, in-fact, the person who sketched this should be hired by Apple.

Dell Lightning, The Ultimate Windows 7 Phone

The Dell Lightning, the mother of all Windows 7 phone. It seems that Dell’s marketing department did some accidental slip with the new phone, and oh so lovely.

The slick slider is equipped with a 1GHz QSD8250 Snapdragon processor, WVGA 4.1-inch OLED display, AT&T and T-Mobile 3G, five megapixel autofocus camera, 1GB of flash with 512MB RAM plus 8GB of storage on a MicroSD card (non-user-replaceable, we’re assuming), GPS, accelerometer, compass, FM radio, and full Flash support including video playback.

The Lightning will be available by Q4 of 2010.

As we know, the 4th generation Apple iPhone has been dropped unto the hands of Gizmodo, well, what would you do with a piece of equipment that the whole entire world is anticipating for?

There has been some problems, it seems that the dissection process (by Gizmodo) has caused some damage to the iPhone. This leads to why Gizmodo hasn’t published a photo of the display.

Ideum has recently unveil their new and improved MT-50 multitouch table. Running on Microsoft Surface OS, the table received a new quad-core processor, GeForce GTX 285 graphics card, increased of the point-and-touch surface count to sixty, and it is built to last all sorts of vandalism.

They call it a levitating chair, a sophisticated wheel chair, without the wheels. The chair floats on a cushion, much like a hovercraft. That said, this is very much like a bumper car.

So, what are the upsides of this levitating chair over a wheelie wheel chair? Well, I guess its kinda cool, and it will certainly make your grandpa the coolest dude in town. But note, it can only carry up to 150kg, and it will not work on carpeted floors.

Sometimes, these technologies are meant to be kept in the closet, not in the market. A wheel chair seems to have a brighter future.

Look mum, these sausages are not just for eating. Just keep them in the fridge and you will have your perfect stylus lasting for more than a month.

700 Dell Workers Looses Job

Dell Malaysia reports that 700 workers will be loosing their job, voluntarily via a Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS) exercise. The 700 that will be loosing their job will be of the Bukit Minyak plant. So, why is Dell doing this?

Dell is currently transferring the division that is currently manufacturing notebooks for Latin America, Canada and the US market to the group’s global manufacturing network. This of course cuts of a major production line. That said, the plant will remain in producing notebooks, desktops and servers for the Australian and South Asian market.

The current plant holds 4,500 workers, and with the VSS being implemented, Dell is looking at downsizing to 3,800 workers.

Dimensions, Malaysia’s First Made For Mobile Sci-Fi Series

Dimensions, dubbed as Malaysia’s first made for mobile Sci-Fi series. The series is currently available on www.dimensions.com.my. Maxis will be partnering with Astro in producing the series. The launch party was held in The Palace, Sheraton Kuala Lumpur.

Because of the increasing mobile user (heavy users), Maxis sees a demand for mobile TV, and hence Dimensions was born. There will be 11 episodes and each episodes will be aired once a week. The cast for Dimensions derives from a group of seasoned and new actors, such as Dhanya Nambiar, Nur Hazwani, Ammar Alfian Aziz, Jehan Miskin, Ben Tan and Anne James.

I do wonder how did these Nokia’s slip up on the main shelf of this Sony Ericsson dealership in Alamanda, Putrajaya. Did the supplier got confused or did the store manager caused some cock up with the stock order. Yes or no, the Nokia phones shouldn’t be there in the first place.

I see a N97, 5830 XpressMusic, and a E71. And of course, a very big Sony Ericsson sign.

A 10,000 People LAN Party, Only In Sweden

HP Envy 15, Really Sexy

It looks very much alike the MacBook Pro, and it also is pitching up with the MacBook Pro, if only it had an Apple logo on it, people might have thought that this is the new MacBook Pro. The HP Envy 15, a 15-inch goodness by HP. Dubbed as the world’s thinest quad-core laptop, at 5.2lbs, it is not exactly heavy.

HP is certainly designing beautiful computers, and this is nonetheless. It is paired with the 1.6GHz core i7, 6GB of RAM, 500GB 7200RPM HDD and a ATI Mobility Radeon 4830 (1GB RAM). The specs sound like a Ferrari Italia.

But too much disappointment, the battery life is a no go. Lasting for a maximum 2hr at full charge, this power mongrel needs a bigger battery pack.

With that said, this is one stunning looking machine and HP really is out there to stun the eyes of many. A MacBook Pro killer? Maybe not.
