Intel Chops Price On SSDs, Great News?

It is reported that Intel will be slashing the prices of SSDs (Solid State Drives) by 42%. We’ve all been pondering on why the huge price difference between the normal hard drives and these SSDs, basically it’s the technology and the ability of holding itself (strength). Intel’s move is due to the new 34-nanometer manufacturing process for NAND flash memory used in SSDs from the 50-nm process that was used in making the older generation SSDs.
Intel introduced 2 sizes of the SSDs, the 80 GB and the 160 GB. Expect a steep fall in price for these and expect a huge increase for the newer and smaller (physical size, not memory size) units.
