Apple Facing iPhone Trademark Issues In China
A Chinese company who owns the trademark for “i-phone” is giving a hard time to Apple Inc (the iPhone makers). It is told that Apple will have to seize any operations with regards to the iPhone in China. As we know, the iPhone has yet to penetrate the China market other than those that have been leaked over.
“Apparently, Apple applied for the iPhone trademark in China in late 2002, but its application only covered computer hardware and software—not phones, according to the Web site of China’s trademark office. Two years later, the Chinese company, called Hanwang Technology, which makes electronic devices and Chinese handwriting recognition systems, registered the i-phone trademark covering phones.”
So, more about trademark now eh? Will the talk with China Unicorn turn silent again? Well, at least the prices of the iPhones sold in the not so legal market in China beats the contract prices.
