Mac Pro Priciest’s Graphics Card Sucks

Mac Pro

The Mac Pro is Cupertino biggest and meanest machine. And now, with the addition of the new Mac Pro, Apple even bumped up the Graphics department with a default base Nvidia GeForce GT 120. A test have been done comparing the default card against the ATI Radeon HD 4870, a USD$200 upgrade.

Using Call of Duty as a testing base, the results are not spectacular.

Benchmark

According to Crave, the upgrade certainly does give the Mac Pro a bump, but with that amount of money spent in, there are many other cheaper options in the market (Windows based), especially the ones that we build our own. Rich Brown says that the upgrade only pushes the graphic performance from mediocre to acceptable.

Yes, we know that Mac’s are not great for gaming/for gamers, but then again…
