What’s In the iPhone 3.0 Update?
Kevin Rose, Digg founder and a very precise man in Apple’s new line prediction. He shared his prediction on the iPhone 3.0 software update; he says that cut-and-paste is coming, but no to videos and MMS.
So, why is everyone so indulged in what Rose has to say? Well, he pretty much got everything right on his last prediction in September 2008. He predicted the revised iPod Nano, iPhone OS 2.1, and iTunes 8.0, among several others. Rose says that iPhone 3.0 will “match the Palm Pre.” He did not expound on that point, and it is pretty unclear. It really could mean anything. What we are hoping it means is that iPhone OS 3.0 will offer the same level of cross-platform integration and seamless contact management that the Pre does with is Synergy platform. In other words, Facebook contacts, Gmail contacts, Exchange contacts will all be merged into one master contact, but still searchable from those different databases. But, who knows what Rose really meant. Our only thought is, if Apple can update the iPhone to match some of the Pre’s iPhone-killing features, Palm may have a short-lived victory in the Pre.
The incompetent NAND chip causes the lack of Video capability.
Well then, the event is on the 17th March 2009. Buckle up your seat belts geeky ones.
